background we provide our clients with legal services tailored precisely to suit their wishes and also we anticipate the future development of each case. Our motto is therefore: “A successful lawyer sees around three corners”. We also place emphasis on preventing future legal disputes, either through the thorough assessment of contractual documentation or through professional legal advice relating to corporate governance. Thanks to our membership of the LIBRALEX International Network of Law Firms, which operates in all countries in Europe, North America and in selected countries on other continents we are able to provide legal services with an international reach. We also provide legal services in English, German, French and Russian. This is one reason why our office won two awards in the prestigious Law Firm of the Year competition in 2018. It has become a highly recommended office in the category Czech Company on International Markets and a recommended office in the Public Procurement category. We thus defended our last year’s position on this, the only official ranking of the best law offices in the Czech Republic.
PUBLIC PROCUREMENT We particularly provide legal advice to public procurement parties in preparing their bids, responding to queries, filing objections to action taken by contracting authorities and legal representation before the Office for the Protection of Competition and in the subsequent judicial review. We also naturally represent the client when concluding contracts with the contracting authority in relation to public procurement and in the resolution of all disputes arising from such contracts. We also provide legal advice to contracting authorities and oversee the entire procurement process. Last year alone, the value of public procurement for which we provided our clients with legal services, exceeded 10 billion crowns.
CORPORATE LAW We offer legal services in the acquisition activities of our clients and provide legal due diligence. We draft and comment on commercial contracts, particularly contracts for work on large technological units and
construction projects. We negotiate with the counterparty on the terms and content of contracts.
M & A AND CORPORATE LAW We organise general meetings and handle the entry of changes in the Commercial Register. We help resolve judicial disputes among the partners of business corporations. As legal support we attend meetings of statutory bodies, check corporate documents, provide comprehensive legal solutions to status-related issues. We establish business corporations and assist in their transformation, merger, dissolution and liquidation. We currently see the criminal liability of legal entities as a sensitive area. Owing to developments in the decision-making practice of the courts we consider this to be an extremely important area and that setting out the appropriate rules to be a standard step in the responsible management of the company. For our clients we constantly implement a compliance policy and set up a system of continuous training and assessment of system functionality. We always introduce our compliance policy to suit the specific needs of the client.
PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEEDINGS We defend clients before the competent public authorities, specialising particularly in environmental law and building law. We draft motions for the initiation of proceedings, statements, complaints and other documents to be submitted to the administrative authority, remedies in administrative proceedings (appeals, resolutions, renewal of proceedings, reviews outside appeal proceedings), lawsuits against decisions passed by administrative authorities, representing citizens and legal entities in proceedings before the administrative courts and cassation complaints to the Supreme Administrative Court.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW We offer our clients legal advice in relation to copyright, industrial property rights - patents, utility models, trademarks and the registration thereof. We represent them in proceedings before the Industrial Property Office, in litigation relating to intellectual
